Stefan is a ginger. He is fiery in every respect. But don’t let his extreme extroversion make you feel intimidated. He loves listening to other’s stories and learning new ways to bring people together. Traveling and people are his passions so when you meet him, be sure to strike up a conversation.

Tell us about you!

I am a student at Portland State University, born and raised up in the Rose City of Oregon. My passions are traveling, meeting people and trying out different cuisine because I’m a food lover.

What inspires you to volunteer?

I love to benefit the people that surround me.

Why did you join Passion Impact/What influence has it had on you?

PI feels like a family and has a welcoming environment that caught my attention. Helping youth to find their passions while impacting their community is something that I would like to do as a career.

What do you hope to accomplish in your internship?

I would like to create positive partnerships between nonprofits and students. For the groups to actually work together and to continue in a long-term relationship. I want a program that will keep running and continually help these groups connect through volunteering in the community.

What is your advice for those who wish to become involved in Passion Impact?

If you’re interested in meeting new people, volunteering to make your community a better place, and to know you’re going to be a part of something big, then Passion Impact is an organization in which you should consider being involved.

Program Manager - C2C AmeriCorps Member

I am a college graduate from Warner Pacific University and I majored in Business Administration. Before I came to Passion Impact, I was working full time as an Unarmed Security Officer for Portland Patrol where I patrolled the business improvement district of downtown Portland, Oregon to ensure public safety. Throughout my life, I have learned that volunteering was a strong way to truly find my passion and that was how I found out that serving my community in various ways is truly what I’m passionate about. From growing up in Portland, Oregon on the north side of town I’ve always been passionate about basketball. Watching NBA games, playing on the courts, video games and watching basketball movies really excites me. Through the Holla Foundation and Champions Academy I use my passion for basketball to helping kids strive and be on the right track toward developing their skills to become successful athletes.

Mallory is new to Portland & new to the world of nonprofits. She is in awe of the students we serve who are dedicated, eager volunteers; sharing genuine friendship while demonstrating professionalism, compassion, & ambition. Passionate about social justice, she is outraged about the widespread, systemically-enforced inequity that exists across humanity and hopes to make a difference any way she can. Hoping especially to make an impact during her time serving Passion Impact!

There’s nothing that she doesn’t love and volunteering has become a big part of her life. The ability to publish her photos brings her an excessive amount of joy as people are able to see her work.

Public Relations Intern

Carly Chan is a free spirit who invests most of her time diving into different cultures in the world. She first moved to Portland in the Fall of 2016 and since then, has participated in Passion Impact’s Volunteer Fair Program, as an ACE, and now as a Public Relations intern. Serving marginalized youth has been her passion as she was and continues to be in their same shoes. She believes that when everyone is willing to get their hands dirty and listen to others’ stories, the world will be a better place. Carly’s pet peeve: gets really annoyed when people interrupt her speaking. Listen, and you’ll have an amazing time interacting with her.
